Schools in Maryland Near Aberdeen Proving Ground
Located in "The Gateway to the Chesapeake Bay" (aka Harford County), the Aberdeen Proving Ground is just 30 miles from Baltimore. This location gives soldiers easy access to amenities like Ripken Stadium, fine dining, shopping, and plenty of arts and culture. You may find, however, that you don't need Baltimore for entertainment with all the Aberdeen Proving Ground has to offer, including:
- Auto crafts
- Bowling
- Golf
- Hunting and fishing
- Sports and fitness centers
- Stables
Special activities also exist for single soldiers and for families.
Several fine public schools exist all around the base, and Aberdeen Proving Ground education opportunities abound on the base itself. For instance, Gains in the Education of Math & Science program gives in-depth laboratory-based experience for students in grades 7-10. Furthermore, four colleges including the University of Maryland and the Florida Institute of Technology have representatives on the base to answer any questions you may have and to assist with enrollment.
