- Discuss leader philosophy, overall unit mission and taking care of soldiers
- Review rating chain/counselor’s support form

- Discuss expectations in job performance and military bearing
- Set/discuss level of authority, specific responsibility and personal accountability
- Review/discuss METL and Your assessment
- Review training plan, deployments and other readiness issues
- Discuss logistics/admin/budget accountability
- Discuss command policies and SOPs
- Discuss personal, educational and organizational goals
- Discuss requirement to counsel and mentor subordinates
