A strong communication network is critical to the Army’s success. A Multi-channel Transmission Systems Operator works directly on communication devices and equipment that communicate through more than one channel. They are responsible for installation, repair, operation and maintenance check of these devices, antennae and associated equipment.
Training:
Job training for a Multi-channel Transmission Systems Operator requires nine weeks of Basic Training, where you learn basic Soldiering skills, followed by 18 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, including hands-on training with multi-channel transmitters and associated equipment.
Training and classroom work will typically cover these topics:
- Installing and operating multi-channel transmission equipment
- Performing maintenance checks and services on associated transmission vehicles
- Operating diagnostic equipment specific to network switches
- As your Network Switching Systems Operator career continues, you will take more classes and receive more advanced training.

Advanced Responsibilities:
Advanced level Multi-channel Transmissions Systems Operators supervise operations and assist the team members in installation, repair, operation and maintenance checks of multi-channel transmission equipment. They also request logistical support for operations.
